European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The deputy mayor of Galaţi (Sud-Est region, Galaţi county) made an official statement that steps were being taken to restructure several companies subordinated to the city hall.
The first company to undergo restructuring is Apă-Canal Galaţi, providing water supply and sewage services for the city.
Of the 1,150 employees in the company, 250 will have to be made redundant. The city hall declared it was waiting for a government decision allowing redundant employees to receive redundancy pay.
