The international group Alcoa Fujicura has announced a new investment in a third factory manufacturing electric cables in Romania. According to the statements made by Alcoa Fujicura representatives, ‘the automotive components market is on the rise and the current production facilities at our disposal are close to maximum capacity'. The new production facility will be located in Beius (Nord-Vest region, Bihor county) attracting initial investments of up to €1 million. ‘The new factory will cover 3,600 square metres, and the manufacturing process is set to start in May 2006. At the outset, we will be working with 76 employees, a number which is expected to increase to 400 by the end of the year', declared company representatives. Alcoa Fujicura began manufacturing automotive electrical distribution systems at Nădab (Vest region, Arad county) in January 2002, and in 2003 it started the construction of a new factory at Buchin, close to Caransebeş (Vest region, Caraş-Severin county). In addition to electrical cables the group brought a second division, to manufacture aluminium profiles, which was completed in 2005. In 2005, Alcoa Fujicura representatives estimated a turnover of 15 million euro, 16% higher than in 2004.
