Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bahco has decided to initiate negotiations with the local unions regarding plans to move the production of hand tools from Enköping to other production units in Spain and Argentina. Bahco in Sweden has nearly 360 workers in Enköping, 275 of whom will be affected. According to the plans, the reorganisation plan will gradually be implemented starting in the autumn of 2006 and be completed by the end of 2007. The reason for the companys plans is the need to consolidate the manufacturing within the Snap-On, owner of Bahco, in order to stay competitive. The municipality in Enköping and county employment boards have been informed. Negotiations with local trade unions have begun.
