Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Global contract manufacturer and systems supplier for communication and industrial electronics, Scanfil, announced on 17 January 2006 the termination of its activities in Hoboken putting the job of 148 workers and 28 employees at risk. Reasons evoked behind the decision are the continuous fall of prices in a telecommunications market that reached its saturation point.
