Description
York City Council are looking to cut 100 jobs as a result of budget discussions. As well as cuts to some services, residents are facing a 5.5% council tax increase in the coming financial year. The proposals mean council tax bills in York would rise by £50 for a band D property and dozens of council jobs would be cut. The increase is still more than the government says is acceptable and it warns it may intervene and cap charges.
