Description
DML, which runs Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth, says it may be forced to reduce the staff by 900 jobs till 2008. Workers have been told a reduction in submarine work and bleak projections about other contracts may mean staff being cut from 4,700 to 3,800.
DML said: 'Two major topics discussed were the UK's excess capacity for surface ship maintenance work and the reduction in Devonport's nuclear
submarine refitting load '.
