Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 28 June 2006, the Wacker Group, a chemical company in Germany, announced the creation of 270 jobs at its new site in Burghausen till the end of 2009. Wacker plans to expand its annual polysilicon production capacity by an additional 4,500 metric tons to a total of 14,500 metric tons by the end of 2009. Wacker has earmarked capital expenditures of around EUR 300 million for this project.
