Description

Urząd Nadzoru Finansowego (UNF), a new institution alike Financial Ombudsman Services in Great Britain - is to be created in Poland. UNF will start to operate in April 2006. In the first stage, the institution will take over competencies of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission, and The Polish Securities and Exchange Commission. From the first of January 2008, UNF will also perform duties of the General Inspectorate of Banking Supervision and Commission for Banking Supervision. The new institution will employ circa 1,000 people. Present employees of the liquidated institutions - the ones who will not get new work contracts and the ones who refuse new posts, will lose their jobs after half a year following UNF's establishing. No information has been given yet on the job consequences facing liquidated institutions.
