Battenfeld Spritzgießtechnik, a manufacturer of machines for the plastics industry, will close its unit in Meinerzhagen, focusing on its remainig plant in Austria. The mother company's chairman explained that the plant in Meinerzhagen had been producing losses for the group and that all efforts to make Meinerzhagen more competitive had failed. A redundancy programme shall be worked out with employees' representatives.
