Description
In 2005, Tnuva Romania, a local branch of the major Israeli food producer, started a new investment of EUR 55 million to build a dairy plant and a farm close to Bucharest (Popesti-Leordeni, Ilfov county, Bucureşti region). The company expects EUR 68 million worth of sales within a few years after the start of the production. The investment will total EUR 55 million,
Some 35% of the investment project is financed by de European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Tnuva has bought a 13-hectare building site in Popeşti-Leordeni for the construction of the first factory owned by the group outside Israel. In the first stage, the factory will have a production capacity of 30 million litres of milk per year, and intends to reach a maximum capacity of 60 million litres.
In April 2007 according to the vice-president of the company Tnuva Romania has 150 employees and this number will increase with 150 people by the end of 2007.
