Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In the centre of Bucharest (Bucureşti region) a new Anador commercial centre has recently been inaugurated. The construction is actually the result of refitting the first horse-driven tram depot erected in Bucharest 100 years ago.
The centre has 3,200 square metres shopping galleries, which include a supermarket, fresh-market, chemist's, bookshop, as well as restaurants, coffee shops, clothing departments, etc. Furthermore, due to the unusual location, Anador will host book releases, theatre performances, and other special events.
'the building costs around €2.5 million and the centre will employ 400 to 500 people. We estimate an annual income of €1.5 million. I intend to extend Anador to other cities in Romania. For instance I am currently searching for a location to build a similar centre in Cluj (Cluj county, Nord-Vest region)' the company manager declared.
