Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The minister of agriculture, Gheorghe Flutur, announced that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Rural Development (Ministerul Agriculturii, Pădurilor şi Dezvoltării Rurale, MAPDR) will hire 1,000 forestry inspectors in 2006. The minister declared that the main reason why MAPDR cannot control observance of the forest exploitation plan is due to a lack of personnel.
He mentioned that there is no question of setting up a ‘forestry police force', but MAPDR currently employs only 300 forestry inspectors, instead of the required 1,300.
Gheorghe Flutur also announced that 16,000 hectares of land will be re-afforested in 2006 and the wages of forestry inspectors will increase.
