Description

MT Picture Display, a producer of picture tubes belonging to a joint venture of Matsushita and Toshiba, will close its factory in Esslingen near Stuttgart. 600 jobs will be lost. The factory's products have suffered price declines of up to 44%, as consumers are shifting their demand to flat panel television sets.
