Description
Cheltenham & Gloucester is to close its mortgage application centre near Warwick, with the loss of up to 400 jobs. C&G, Lloyds TSB's mortgage arm, said the jobs would be transferred to Mumbai in India by the end of 2006; it has already switched more than 2,500 jobs to Mumbai in a cost-cutting drive - 1n 2004 the bank closed a call centre in Newcastle with the loss of 960 jobs.
