Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Laivitės žuvis, a Lithuanian fish processing company was scheduled to open in September 2005, but due to long procedures necessary to receive refund from the SAPARD, the company is still not operating. Laivitės žuvis is a daughter enterprise of ship repairing and construction company Laivitė. Now the plant is set and all necessary equipment is installed. The administration of Laivitės žuvis is anticipating the receipt of EU funds in the short run. The money is needed to buy some additional equipment and to hire employees (120 in total).
