In the framework of HP's worldwide restructuring, HP France announced on 12 September 2005 that a redundancy programme will affect 1,300 jobs out of a total of 4,800 in France. the company's decision mainly affects the Isère region by Grenoble. The French government has reacted due to the consequences in terms of employement in the region. Across Europe, there are up to 6,000 jobs at stake.
The redundancy programme which planned about 6,000 jobs losses in Europe and threatened 1,240 in France will finally affect 886 jobs for HP France and 54 in its subsidiaries. Hence, Grenoble will loose 292 jobs, Issy-Les-Moulineaux 155, Les Ulis 155 and L'Isle-d'Abeau 146.
