Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bulgarian company ORT, which is one of the leaders in the furniture manufacturing sector, will build a new factory worth €3 million. This plant shall ensure a four times higher productivity, said the executive director Mladen Tzonev. The 14,000 square metres new factory will be fully computerised and include a 3,000 square metres show-room. Construction will start in spring 2006 and production start is planned for the beginning of 2007. Currently, ORT has more than 40,000 different products in its portfolio. Its most famous product is the 'SeatTable' stack chair, designed by Ilian Milinov, which has won awards for best product on international furniture fairs in Italy, Germany (Cologne fair) and in the US.
