Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The recession in the furniture sector has claimed its fourth major victim in 12 months. Furnitureland Holdings, which owns the chain, was forced to call in administrators after an 11th-hour rescue attempt failed to stave off a cash crunch. The collapse of the sofa-to-bed retailer puts 500 jobs, including 40 head office positions, at risk. It owed suppliers about £11m and has more than 20,000 outstanding customer orders.
