The paper company SCA will implement an extensive efficiency enhancement program and cut 3,600 jobs. All business areas will be affected by the plan which is expected to result in annual saving of SEK 1,550 million by the end of 2007. Some 75% of the planned job reduction will be carried in Europe. Jan Åström, CEO of the company, said in an interview that paper mills would be closed in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. Details regarding the number of dismissals per country have not been given, except for Sweden, where 400 jobs will be cut.
