Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Pątnów-Adamów-Konin (PAK) power plant group produces nearly 12% of the country's electricity and is the second-largest producer of electricity obtained from brown coal in Poland. Trade unions in PAK declared that a collective dispute was going on with the management. The company is to fire 400 people. The management does not wish to comment the situation. it admitted that a job reduction programme is being prepared as well as a reduction of power capacity.
A social packet signed in 2000 by investor Elektrim company guarantees a 10 years employment for PAK workers, therefore, dismissed people will benefit from high redundancy payments.
