Description
The largest Slovenian-based bank Nova Ljubljanska will cut its workforce to 3,500 employees by the end of 2005, in order to improve productivity and allow for better cost management. NLB has acquired controlling shares in several banking institutions around former Yugoslavia, mainly in Serbia and Montenegro. State-controlled financial groups and Belgian KBC are two major owners of the bank.
No direct dismissals are envisioned in 2005.
