Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish Poultry production company, Danpo, announced mid-August 2005 that it will be necessary to dismiss 140 employees starting from November 2005 - 115 in Farre and 25 in Aars where the management hopes that the redundancies will be made by natural wastage. The redundancies are due to failing economy since 2002. In november 2005 Danpo opens a new plant in Aars with the aim to rationalise and increase production and hereby overcomethe crisis. The employees have long been aware that redundancies could not be avoided in the long perspective.
