Supplier of roofs for convertibles and locks Edscha wants to cut 1,000 jobs and close factories in Portugal, England, France and Canada. Around 800 jobs will go at the European operations. Edscha has seen its turnover fall in a growing sector recently. Edscha is owned by financial investor Carlyle. Carlyle is said to want to sell Edscha soon and the cost cutting measures are supposed to lure potential buyers.
