Description

Plymouth City Council is expecting to lose 200 jobs as the authority struggles to meet its budget for this financial year. All staff, apart from those working in schools, will receive a letter inviting expressions of interest in voluntary redundancies. The council is also reviewing its use of temporary staff and consultants. Chief Executive Barry Keel said: ‘I regret the need for any redundancies but we are hoping that the invitation for voluntary redundancies will minimise the need for compulsory job losses'.
