Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Dutch building insulation products manufacturer Unidek based in Gemert, southern Netherlands, will lay off 50 of its 390 employees. The company management, works council and trade unions reached an agreement on a social programme for the redundant employees on 15 July 2005. The job cuts will affect the whole company organisation, including production, office and support departments, director B. Claaszen said. 'The restructuring is a result of the decreased demand for building products and the need to increase efficiency', Claaszen added.
