Description
Flintshire council is looking to cut 100 jobs in order to reduce a projected budget deficit of £5 million to £7 million in the financial year 2006-2007. The council's leader has warned there could be around 100 redundancies from the 7,000-strong workforce. Unions say compulsory redundancies should be a 'last resort' and that the 'council should be looking at losing agency staff and actually controlling employment and looking for redeployment.'
