Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Almost 300 jobs are to go at RAF Stafford, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced. The storage depot at the base, where 530 people work, is to close by 2007. The MoD said 280 people were being made redundant and the other 250 staff would be offered transfers or early retirement. About 450 servicemen and women in the Air Support Unit are already being moved from RAF Stafford to RAF Wittering in Cambridgeshire. The leader of Stafford Borough Council said she would be writing to the MoD to ask what plans are in place to support families affected by redundancy.
