Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 23 June 2005, the government voted Decision no. 588, stipulating the redundancy of 100 employees at Regia Autonoma de Interes Local Hunedoara (Vest region).
Redundant employees will benefit from social security measures, according to the company restructuring and reorganisation programme.
Regia Autonoma de Interes Local Hunedoara is a company with a wholly-owned state capital, providing a wide range of services for the local community: collection, purification and distribution of water, steam and hot water supply, sanitation and waste disposal, etc.
The restructuring programme, stipulating the redundancy of the 100 employees, was approved by trade unions and the Local Council of the city of Hunedoara. The programme sets out measures of organisational, technical, economic, financial and social restructuring by outsourcing certain activities based on public-private partnership contracting.
