Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 13 June 2005, the company Matthey, a subsidiary of Arcelor, leading player of the global steel industry, inaugurated the stainless steel tubes plant in Severní Předlice, industrial zone of Ústí nad Labem (North Bohemia). The construction of this new production unit, dedicated to the automotive exhausts market, was completed in 11 month with a total investment of €15 million. It will employ more than 100 employees by the end of 2006. This investment is an integral part of Arcelor's strategic ambition to accompany its customers' moves and to develop new markets in the Eastern European countries.
