Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Computer company Prokom revealed details of its restructuring plan. Recent weak results forced Prokom to undertake serious restructuring measures. Prokom will become a holding company controlling several subsidiaries operating in various market segments and will concentrate its activity only on large projects as well as research and development. The company will resign from trading and transfer smaller contracts to its subsidiaries. This outsourcing will enable the company to cut workforce by 200 to 300 employees, liquidate two branches and decrease marketing costs. Prokom will also renegotiate contracts for renting office space. Altogether savings should amount to PLN 60-80 million.
Prokom also informed that it negotiates strategic partnership with two large companies, which should allow it to offer them services globally.
