Sogefi, an Italian-owned company which makes filtration equipment for the motor industry is creating 125 jobs in south Wales with an £8 million expansion programme. The Italian-owned company, which employs around 500 in Wales, said the investment would also mean a further 134 jobs will be secured at its Llantrisant factory. That plant, alongside others in Tredegar and Nottingham, make equipment for nearly two-thirds of the UK's cars. This news comes in a period when around 200 jobs have been lost at Welsh firms after MG Rover went into administration in April 2005.
