Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
TPCA Czech, a joint-venture of Toyota-Peugeot-Citroën, operating in Ovčary, industrial zone of the city Kolín since the end of 2004, has recently launched one of the biggest recruitment campaign in the Czech republic. The company intends to increase its current staff of about 1,800 employees by up to 500 people by the end of 2005, looking especially for manual workers. The project on the grass field with a total investment of 50 billion CZK, the planned annual production of 300,000 automobiles (one car every minute) and the final staff of 3,000 workers will further increase the importance of the Czech car industry that now employs about 100,000 people and generates one sixth of GDP and one fifth of the Czech export.
