Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 27 April 2005, a supplier of mechanical and electronic modules for the telecommunications, healthcare and automobile industries, Perlos announced co-operation negotiations with the whole personnel at the Ylöjärvi plant in Finland.
Due to the structural change in demand, Perlos' production capacity in Finland will not correspond to demand in the past. For this reason, Perlos has announced it will initiate investigations for adjusting production capacity to match the prevailing situation.
Perlos will immediately start investigations for discontinuing operations at the Ylöjärvi plant as one option for adjusting the capacity. The possible discontinuation would be implemented during the first quarter of 2006 at the latest.
