Description

Siemens VDO Automotive, one of the world's leading supplier of electronics, electrical products to the automotive industry, intends to relocate its activity from a German site (Würzburg) to the Czech Republic. The company is planning to build a new plant in Hrabová, industrial zone of the city Ostrava, and employ up to 1,200 people within two stages. The biggest foreign investment that the city Ostrava has ever obtained will help the region suffering from the second highest unemployment rate in the Czech Republic (15.5%). The production is to be launched in June 2006.
