European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The fourth largest French eyeglasses manufacturer Novacel announced on April 2005 the creation of about one hundred new jobs. The company is building a new factory and a new laboratory in its Château-Thierry site in Picardie, to be completed by the end of 2005. This represents an investment of €8 million for this company created in 1994, which employs 260 employees and supplies 30% of independent opticians in France. Since 2002 the Novacel's turnover has increased sharply and the production in 2005 is still increasing.
