Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
LG Electronics has announced the creation of a new facility, which will produce modern digital television sets, plasma monitors and LCD screens. The investment, second LG factory in Poland, is located on a 38 hectares plot on the territory of the SEZ; the company will therefore benefit from tax exemption until 2017. Another zone will be set up in the proximity of the plant and it will be designated for company's subcontractors who are likely to create, as much as 5,000 jobs. LG Electronics also signed an agreement with Ciechanów Technical University, on the basis of which the firm will set up an R&D centre. It will employ graduates of the academy who are already subject to a special educational program tailored for the needs of the investor.
