European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Comotec, manufacturer of components for spectacle frames, settled in Jura , announced on 25 March 2005 it will cut 60 jobs amongst the 300 workers of the site. Management also announced that another 40 jobs might be lost in 2006. Further information had been given on 12 July 2005, 30 jobs will be suppressed by the end of 2005 and management planned 60 others jobs cut for 2006. Reasons given are Asian competition and the delocalisation of a part of the production to China.
