Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
One of Malvern's largest employers which announced 500 posts losses says it is taking steps to minimise that figure. Technology firm QinetiQ, which also has an office in Pershore, said that posts would be cut over 52 sites nationwide.
It said traditional support functions and technical posts would go under a restructuring programme.
Now the firm says it expects the number to be less than at first expected but cannot say where the cuts will be made. The company says they are expecting the majority of affected staff to be redeployed or to take voluntary redundancy.
