Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedish Meats will cut 266 jobs by 2006 to adapt to international competition. The redundancy plan will affect different plants, among which the plants located in Stockholm (46 jobs concerned), Skara (34 jobs), Kristianstad (26 jobs), Uppsala (32 jobs), Linköping (28 jobs) and Kävlinge (24 jobs). The company expects that the plan will lead to savings of 450 millions SEK for the period 2004-2006. After the implementation of the plan, the company will have 3,500 employees, compared to 5,900 in 2000.
