Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Efore has decided to start cooperation talks with its personnel in order to cut jobs. The company is aiming to relocate the majority of its functions to China and Estonia. On 24 May 2005, Efore informed of completed cooperation negotations. As a result of the round a total of 98 employees will be made redundant. The redundancies will take place in phases by the end of 2005. As a consequence of these personnel reductions, most of Efore's production at Saarijärvi will be transferred to the factories in Estonia and China.
