Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Unomedical, producing medical instruments, decided in March 2005 to relocate parts of the production from Zealand, Denmark, to countries with lower wages. Two of four factories are closed and 500 employees will be made redundant by 2007. The production at the Hårlev factory with 300 employees and at the Vassingerød factory (150 employees) will be moved to a new factory in Slovakia.
