Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
CSM, the Dutch company specialized in food products, announced on 24 February 2005 200 job cuts. This decision concerns the closure of three French sites. CSM had already sold in 2004 one of its French subsidiary and keeps on reorganizing its French activity. The three closures account for 200 job reductions in the Maubeuge (Nord), Thoiry (Yvelines) and Petit-Couronne (Seine-Maritime) manufactures. CSM will regroup the production in the Mans and Maubeuge Quick Pain sites. The cost of this restructuring is about 20 millions euros.
