Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Ericsson announced it will close its factory in the Swedish city of Nynäshamn. In a statement, Ericsson's CEO Carl-Henric Svanberg said that the production requires less labour, forcing Ericsson to scale down its production units. 463 employees, out of whom 264 are blue-collar workers, are affected by the decision. About 70 of them will be transferred to other facilities in the cities of Kumla and Katrineholm, and in high-tech suburb Kista.
