Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Management of the lighting equipment manufacturer Sylvania, based in Tirlemont, has announced a restructuring plan aiming at improving competitiveness. 80 jobs are to be cut.
A decrease in margins, due to constant price erosion, has made it more difficult for Sylvania to compete with market leaders. Unions understand the need for a restructuring but still hope that the number of direct dismissals will be restricted.
