Description
Panasonic AVC Networks Czech, s.r.o., is a subsidiary of the global corporation Matsushita Electric Industrial — one of the leading producers of electric and electronic products globally known for its Panasonic brand. The successful Japanese expansion to the Czech Republic started in 1996 with the construction of a manufacturing plant in Borské pole, industrial zone of the city of Plzeň. In February 2005 the company, which is one of the largest employers in Plzeň with more than 2000 workers, had announced an increase of staff by 700 people by the end of August 2005. On 11 April 2006, Panasonic announced that it would hire up to 3,000 new employees for new assembly shops by the end of 2007. The company, which pays employees an average monthly wage of 14,000 CZK, is looking for qualified workers and also for thousands of new flats.
Panasonic AVC Networks Czech is the only significant producer of high quality Panasonic televisions in Europe and exports its products mainly to Western Europe, i.e. Germany, UK, Spain, Italy and France.
