Tatravagónka in the city Poprad is a company with a long tradition in production of railway rolling stock. Due to lower demands for wagon production — less of 25% than in 2004, the company management announced for 2005 a layout of 450 employees of which 200 are blue-collar workers. Last major redundancy took place in the company in 2003 when almost 100 employees were dismissed.
