Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nina Ricci announced on 11 February 2005 that 212 jobs would be suppressed. The company had to dismiss 212 workers for economic reasons. Hence, two sites will be closed in Ile de France and the production would be relocated in Chartres in Eure et Loire. However, the redundancy method gave rise to claims from unions. Management decided for the third time to propose a scale of grades based on points, on the personnel's private situation. A single man without children would for instance get fewer points than a divorced mother of two. The less points, the higher the chance to become redundant.
