According to the article published on 14 January 2005 in ‘Les Echos', the French subsidiary of the American company SLI (Sylvania Lighting International), will be closed by the end of 2005. The direction announced on 11 January 2005 that from 25 January 2005, 40% of the jobs would be suppressed. This reduction concerns 227 jobs at Lyon's manufacture and 24 jobs at the headquarters. The reason is an increase of competition from East Europe.
