Description
Rusch a company that manufactures medical equipment said that it is cutting 1,600 jobs world-wide and relocating its production to Mexico and Malaysia. The company is part of the US firm Teleflex, which has headquarters in Pennsylvania. In a statement the company said it was ‘a difficult decision'. The company has said the closure, which will happen by the end of 2005, is part of a global plan which will see its operations shut in 20 locations. The move is part of a wider restructuring of the firm's European operations, which will also result in job cuts in Cardiff and the closure of two factories in Austria.
