The Netherlands' biggest bank ABN AMRO is axing 2,850 jobs or 3% of its worldwide staff as it seeks to cut its costs and restructure its investment banking business. 1,000 jobs will be shed in the Netherlands: some 600 in the IT sector (some of these jobs could be outsourced), some 225 in the personnel department and some 225 in the investment banking sector.
